What I Offer

Years of experience teaching all skill levels and age groups: I teach middle school age children (10-13) all the way up to retirement age. I teach across multiple genres (rock, pop, jazz, blues, r and b, hawaiian, etc) and at all skill levels (beginner, intermediate, advanced). If you want to perform at a professional level, we will work towards that. If you just want to know enough to jam with your friends, we can do that too.

Convenience: I’m located right near the corner of Nu’uanu and King, just outside of Chinatown in Downtown Honolulu. I offer free parking validation for the municipal lot one block away.

Several specialized courses of study: I offer lessons in guitar, 'ukulele and voice. I can also augment these lessons with instruction in bass guitar, music theory, digital studio recording, live performance coaching, songwriting, and ear training. We can pull the elements that you are most interested in to custom design the curriculum that's just right for you.

You learn songs you love: I will teach you songs that you know and are passionate about, and through the learning of these songs you will learn technique and skills.

Online teaching tools: I will provide all the music and recordings that you will need to learn. I provide them at the lesson, and you can access them via my website. On the website you can find sheet music, recordings, chord charts, scales, video tutorials, and music theory primers. This database is updated constantly with anything my students need to succeed.

I specialize in beginners: Although I teach across all skill levels, I can provide the beginning musician with an enjoyable and accessible entree into the world of making music.

First lesson is free: Your first lesson is always free. You should get a taste for what you are getting before you have to pay for it. This applies to all lessons; group and private lessons.
