Types Of Lessons
Remember - Your first lesson is always free!
Group Lessons - 10 lessons ($20 per lesson)
I offer lessons in many different formats. Often group lessons are a great way to begin exposure lessons; the cost per lesson is lower and it’s nice to have some partners in the learning process. The easiest way to get group lessons going is to gather a few friends (3 to 4 per class works well) who are interested in learning. You can spend time learning an instrument, and spend some time with friends. Feel free to contact me with any questions you have about group lessons.
Private Lessons ($30 per half hour, $50 per hour)
The core of my teaching business is private lessons. There is simply no substitute for having an expert give individual attention. Progress is often faster, and time is utilized to the fullest. The curriculum can be custom tailored to your needs and interests, and the music that we learn is music that you love. Meeting times are flexible and can be tailored to your schedule.
Feel free to contact me with any questions that you have, or to set up an appointment.
The charge is $50 for an hour long lesson and $30 for a half hour session. If you buy five or more lessons at a time there is a discount of $5 per lesson.
Lessons are paid one lesson in advance. Cash, check, or credit card is accepted.
Off-Site Lessons ($50 per hour, add travel time)
There are times when my students enjoy the comfort and convenience of lessons at home. Perhaps you have a break during work that you’d like to utilize for a guitar lesson and you can’t get down to the studio. Perhaps it’s inconvenient for you to drive down to Waikiki. In order to serve my students better I offer off-site lessons. House calls, if you will.
All you need is your guitar, tuner, and sheet music. I will bring anything else that you need. The ideal learning space is a quiet, uninterrupted place where people won’t mind a little music being played, and 2 chairs.
The charge is $50 per hour including travel time. I’m located downtown at 928 Nu’uanu Ave. Let’s say you want to have your lesson in Kaimuki. It will take me 30 minutes round trip (15 minutes there, 15 minutes back). Your charge would be as follows.
$50 - 1 hour lesson
$25 - 30 minute travel (0.5 hours x $50)
$75 - total charge
Please feel free to contact me if you have any other questions concerning off-site lessons.
